The Golden Rods Car Club
The Golden Rods were formed in 1961 by Dick Polkinghorne, Dave Sandquist and Gary Sigmeth. They were 3 friends from school who loved cars. In ’63 they heard about GSTA & came to the Bryant Police Station, joined the Association and have been active ever since. For several years they ran a circuit track racecar. They gave the car the # 69. The reason for this was, they would have the same number if the car were right side up or upside down.
